| i had a '96 ford ranger 2wd from 96-98 then got rid of it. that little truck i will have to say that was a well built truck. in the 2yrs i had it after the test drive was 14 miles on it. when i got rid of it it had 73,000 miles on it.

| open up your rear diff, stick your finger in fluid check for glimmer of metal flakes or shavings, try changin your rear diff fluid |

| Very true I sure hope he hasn't been driving like that for this long but I'm sure if he has then the problem has more then likely showed itself by now |
