Drive shaft or differential ???
Hello!
I justed got my truck last week and I have a lot of nice plans for it . It is a Mazda B4000 2X4 1994. But before I do anything I have to make it shine again because with the sun and our winters the red colour has gone a little white and my rear fender are due for a little putty job. I also have a couple of other little thing I have to do but I need advise. My question is that when I take off from a stop or a light I feel a kind of loss that is coming from the rear and I was woudering if anybody could tell me if there is more chances that it is the drive shaft or the differential?![]() |

Still don't get what you mean... Is there a noise? If so, can you describe the sound, and maybe where it comes from? Is there any vibration that you can feel? At what speed does the vibration seem the worst?
On an older Dodge (B150) van that I had, the torsional vibration damper (harmonic balancer) had been buggered by some goof changing the transmission. He used it as a place to jack/lever. Found that after taking the driveshaft off and having its balance checked at a good truck repair shop. Did you purchase any repair books? I found that FleaBay can be a good source to pick up a service/repair manual, fairly cheaply. |

Its hard to explain. When I press on the gas to take off I could feel that there is a loose. It feels like there is a loose in the gears of the differential but I hope it's not that. I will check my u-joints first. I'll try to find what it is and then tell you. Thanks
