starter problem in 1989 B2200 ?

Hi guys/gals..

Just bought truck for hauling Zodiac boat for trout/crab fishing.
Truck skips a beat when first cranking over. Sometimes takes 2/3 turns of the key, then it starts.
It may be the starter or ..?
Any tips for replacing/checking starter would be great.

Welcome and howdy from TEXAS. Roy first check the easy things check connections on battery look for acid also check acid level also make sure you have a good ground then check connections on starter if ok have starter checked it might have bad brushes might open it up and check it and if the brushes are bad buy new one or have it re-built im sure other members will chime in soon it's that there probably dreaming about how bad they want to be at work today.
