Just bought a new brake master cylinder and its not working help!!

so i just bought anew brake master cylinder today as my old one was leaking and the pedal was going to the floor i had to pump the brakes to stop but now this new one does not seem to be working.
I bleach bled it before putting it on and nothing. I went to bleed the brakes and it does not even supply enough pressure to push fluid through the hose i am using to bleed the brakes.
SO... i am wondering if maybe the re-manufactured master cylinder is just not working properly, which it seemed to be working alright when i bleed it or maybe if my push rod is not coming out far enough and if that then how do i measure it to see if thats the problem???
any other thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated
thanks

it could just be defective. a new part doesn't mean it's a working part.
most likely it's leaking internally.

old brake fluid gets like molasses! stand on the pedal hard as you can with the bleeder open, cycle it a couple of times and see if it breaks loose. it prove easier to start in the front, to flush the old fluid then rdo it from the farthest point.

Well i dont have any old fluid in it, before i realized the master cylinder was bad i bleed my brakes twice all the fluid is clean and new. and when i tried to bleed them again tonight it would start to move through the hose and only get like an inch its a clear hose so i could see it hardly move at all. the pedal goes straight to the floor no pressure at all

Sorry I missed the part where you mentioned that it was not pumping fluid when you bench bled it....then the master was not rebuilt correctly. If it won't bench bleed it won't get better by putting it on the vehicle

Too many times I have seen "rebuilt" parts that were not rebuilt, just cleaned up and sold as rebuilt.
When it comes to brakes, always buy NEW. Because what is stopping you when your screaming down the highway at 80 mph.. I would rather trust new to used or rebuilt. Companies like Auto Zone usually attach a lifetime warranty to their parts as well.

i have bought a part or 2 in my lifetime that was defective until i realized that i broke it myself. dropped an ac compressor out of the box and cussed like a sailor. bought a starter for one of the big trucks and installed it to find that it didnt work. i was even hotter.
