1994 B4000 engine slants after accident

What is good reference that shows the engine mounts on a 1994 B4000? The engine is a 4.0 V6. I think it is the push rod version.

A friend had an accident in his 1994 Mazda B4000. Looking at the truck, I saw only damage to the right end of the front bumper and the right fender. Although he hit a bridge rail and spun around, I saw no damage to the frame. However, he says that the engine was sitting level in the engine compartment before the accident. Now it is canted. The end near the firewall is lower. The plastic hose that sits slightly over the radiator is not deformed.. So if the engine went out of level, I think it must have dropped down on the end near the firewall. I can't see the mounts very well, but there is no obvious damage to them. What could cause the engine to slant?

I guess have a look underneath, for bad tranny mount or crosmember, have a good look at the frame for irregularities, Does the fan touch the shroud? or almost?

It could be the frame has buckled abit... the only place that could tell you 100% would be an autobody shop, they can take measurements and determine if anyhting has been tweeked, and it may be repairable.

i agree with stump in looking at the tranny mount and not the motor mount.

The fan doesn't touch the shroud. The engine runs fine and the truck was driven home from the accident. The only problem was that the bent front bumper scraped the tire on hard turns. The bumper and brush guard on the front have been taken off and I can see the frame clearly. Nothing appears to be bent. (I agree that a shop could measure it.) The members that go across the frame under the tranny look OK to me.

When I look at the picture of the truck on the front of the Haynes book "Ranger Pick-ups 1993 thru 2005", it looks like the engine on that truck is slanted! But my friend says that his engine sat level before the accident.

i think your buddy needs to spend some more time under the hood of his truck... you would clearly be able to tell that something isnt right if it was bent out of wack... there would be abnormal noises coming from the tranny crossmember if it was bad... if it was the front then the truck wouldnt drive straight or there would be awfull vibreations coming from the front... i got hit my a vavlo doing 45 right in the passenger side front fender and it pushed my frame in but i knew it as soon as i went to drive away... the tire rubbed the wheelwell and was pushed in about 2 inches... my motor was fine.. i changed the motormounts jsut to be on the safe side but they where still good... tothis day i cant tell that it ws hit other then the difference in color...
