Angry Its cold in WI and cold in my TRUCK!! HELP!

Hope someone can steer me in the right direction. I have a 1991 b2600i 4x4. My heat works but is not "hot". I've changed the coolant and thermostat with no sucess. I've had a few guys from work here (diesel mechanics) look at my truck. Hoses are warm, heater hoses are warm so coolant is going through the system. The guys gave me an electric pump with some hose to flush my heater core. I'm going to be doing that this afternoon. Any other ideas what It could be??

I had the truck parked over the summer, seems that mice build a nest under my console. I vacuumed that out. One day I push/pulled the lever on the heater controls (fresh/recirc) and It wasn't moving. I pulled it real hard and heard a clunk. Whats the possibility of a flap under my dash is stuck open? Could there be a mice nest between my heater core and blower?? Help! Its cold!! Thanks!!:c onfused:

a clogged core could cause your problem. so could dirt buildup on the core causing air to be unable to pass through it. if it was the recirculate switch that broke on you, i doubt that would be a problem. your heat usually works by pulling fresh air but can be made to recirculate it. all that does is dry the air out more til it becomes too stuffy and uncomfortable.

I'm going to guess that it's your hot/cold mixture door. It's probably stuck on the cold or mostly cold. Maybe you caught a mouse in the door If the cooling system is working properly then I would guess that door is stuck.

I bought something like this Amazon.com: HEATER/FAN CERAMIC DIRECT WIRE: Electronics when my heater core took a dump on me. It might be something to look into while your trying to find out what is wrong with your heater.

Well I flushed the heater core with an electric pump, 5gallon bucket full of hot water and radiator flush. I ran it for about 2hours. It didn't seem that dirty when it was done. Out came out some silver flakes on top of the water. I think there was some gunk on the bottom of the bucket. Put it all back together and its hot now, but not as hot as when I first bought the truck a few years ago. But that will do for now.

Trucks temp gauge goes up and down up and down from time to time. It doesn't over heat though. Possibly a head gasket?? Any thoughts on this? This beast has 192k on it. I bought it at 110k 3 years ago. Very good truck but I've dumped a lot of money into it.

You might want to do a full system flush. Sounds like someone might have tried to plug a leak with "prestone silver flake" that stuff is utter **** and it blocks everything not just the leaks.

remove your upper rad hose, and insert a garden hose, and run it until the water coming out the bottom hose is clear and cold. Then drain your rad completely and then attach the bottom rad hose and continue to run the engine with the garden hose into the upper, and go until everything comming out of the upper rad is clear. Then drain the ****** a second time, and fill with anti-freeze/coolant.
