White smoke,it's a burning oil smell but it uses 1/4 cup of oil between oil chages, runs great no loss of power just smokes relly bad in the morning and when the motor warms up it goes away its like a seal is bad maybe.

No offense Silver, but your wrong.. How many Mazda's have you owned....

Unless your seeing oil mixing in your rad. IF he had blown a head gasket, it would be white smoke all the time. BUT because it is only when he starts up, he is assuming that the steam created when the engine is cold, is smoke.

ALL Mazda's blow a little cloud of blue at start up, this is normal. It usually means the valve guide seals need to be replaced. Adding a glass pack oil filter and a product like Lucas to your oil will cause the seals to seat themself and seal the leak.

Mazda B's (the real ones from 85 to 93) are a unique engine with a few unique quirks. First being YOU CANNOT KILL THIS MOTOR.. My DD is rolling very close to 300,000 miles without a rebuild. Second is rocker tick, it is normal for these trucks, they have HLA (hydraulic lifter Assembly), they make noise, and blue smoke. These are all normal things..

i stand corrected , probably just condensation in the muffler , the oil smell is a leaking valve cover gasket .

Valve guides or seals or maybe clogged PVC. I had a 82 626 it had this part that connects to the transmission oil line and it was leaking trans fluid into the carb and smoking big times check it out.

That is the other b*tch with Mazda's is they collect a **** of alot of water in the muffler..

My (DD) truck goes, and goes and goes some more.. I can not kill her (and I have tried).. BUt her days are now limited, due to the amount of work she needs..

3 years ago I started adding Lucas to my crank case, and it has fixed my valve guide seals, they dont leak anymore.

Put a diesel engine in it, then when it smokes you wont have to worry.
