cruise control switch

Greetings all. I have a 1999 Mazda B3000 with a broken cruise control switch, and have multiple questions.

-How difficult is it to remove and replace?
-What are the steps I should follow to accomplish job safely
(worried about airbag)?
-I seem to be having trouble identifying the part number, is it
interchangeable with Ford Ranger Parts?
-Should I buy a reapir manual, if yes which one?
-Would it be better to let the dealer do it?

Tnx, Sam

Welcome to the forum Sam, wish I knew more about that one.

Seems like Chilton is somewhat better than Haynes,
but if you're going to keep this truck a while,
consider buying a factory book for it, whole different world.
Good luck.

Tnx Crab...., I took your advice and purchased a used Factory Repair Manual. It gave me the info I needed to remove/install the faulty Cruise Control Switch.

I found a few used switch assy for sale online but decided to pay an extra $10.00 for a new one at the Mazda Dealer. Downside is I have to wait for the backorder to be filled.

All in all, the Repair Manual and the Part total less than the possible 2 hour labor charge. Again, Thanks.
