| Weber carb on 1984 B2000 ? Iam seriously considering installing a Weber carburetor on my truck.can anyone who has had firsthand experience with the process suggest model type to buy and share useful tips about installation? I will be ordering carb from Redline that offers total package which includes adapter plate, air filter, brackets, etc. In my online research i noted a reference to installing a fuel pressure regulator. Will this also be a issue to deal with? Thanks in adance to any and all insight. |

| I installed a redline kit on my 2200 and love it, i ordered off ebay and gave about 250 and it came with everything needed i only had to modify the throttle linkage but very easy, gave me more power and better mpg. I didnt install a fuel pressure regulator because it was not needed with my kit. good luck |

| Weber 32/36 and 38/38 I've installed both the 32/36 and the 38/38. The 32/36 gave better throttle response over the stock carb in all ranges. I didn't have it on long enough to get a good read on the gas mileage. It was an easy bolt on operation and tuning was a piece of cake. I installed the 38/38 on the advice of Redline to get a big boost in bottom end grunt as my '92 B2200 is a work truck that I pull a dual axle 16' utility trailer with. Now before all you performance guru's out there shoot yourselves in the foot by claiming you can't get better low end performance from a larger carb, I would encourage you to talk to Redline. My 38/38 gives me a lot more bottom end than the stock carb or the 32/36. I've adjusted the carb a couple of times and have ended up with the bottom end adjustment about a 1/4 turn leaner than lean best idle. This is giving me a consistent 26 mpg when I'm not pulling the trailer and about 23 mpg when I'm pulling it loaded. Beware that the 38/38 doesn't have any of the emissions ports that the 32/36 has. However, the carb body is the same and I believe the plugs in the ports could be removed and tubes added. The point is that if you live at a location where emissions inspections are very strict, the 38/38 wouldn't pass. With an adapter for the 32/36 you can use the stock air cleaner and hook most the emissions stuff up. If I remember correctly the only thing you'd lose would be the altitude compensator. The installation is easy, but don't forget to Locktite the adapter plate bolts. You may also have to grind away one of the corners of the adapter plate to clear a port on the intake manifold. The instructions are pretty good. Good luck, and have fun!
