Will a 1986 2000 engine work in my 1989 2200 truck??

I bought a good running 2000 and want to put that engine in my 2200 truck because its much nicer, anyone done this?

yep the engine will bolt right up to everything.

most of the mazda f series engines will fit and work. this includes the fe from the b2000, the f2 carb from the b2200, the f2 fuel inj from the mazda mx6 626 and ford probe 1st gen, the f2t turbo fuel inj from the gt version of the same cars, the fe dohc from the mazda 626 and kis sportage, and i know of a few people who had the 2.6L from the b2600 and replaced it with the 3.0L v6 from the mazda mpv of the dohc v6 from the ford probe and mazda mx6 2nd gen.

most of the heads have the same bolt pattern too so you can do a mini swap.

my setup is a 91 mazda mx6 gt F2T (forged pistons and rods) short block with a 95 kia sportage dohc head with the gold mazda dohc valve cover. i'm looking into superchargers and turbos soon to add a bit more power.

You said that some have took the 2600 and replaced with a 3.0 v6. do you have anymore info on this? My 88 b2600 died and would like to replace with something else that will allow me to use the 4x4 in the truck. Thanks
