I had that same problem with my 93 dakota. I flushed the system and it still got hot so I sent it to a shop and they said the rad was stopped up at the bottom. It ran fine after they boiled it out. But its doing it again so I think I'll just buy another rad. Have no idea whats stopping it up. I have seen a couple of peices of gasket maker in the top before and guess that it came from back when I put a new waterpump on it. Thats the only thing I've ever done to the engine so it pretty much had to be. I don't understand how the water can go through like it did when I flushed it and it be stopped up. that didn't make much sense to me.
