90 b2200 loses spark

I ran fine until one day it died and then started 10 times in a 30 mile drive. It's fuel injected, Ca. model. with about 100k on it. I've replaced the distributor because I got a high resistance reading from it. The coil checks out ok. The ignitor could be at fault or could be the ecu? It will start and run at first for about 5 minutes and then die. Could there be a problem with the fuel system that tells the computer to kill the ignition?

try your fuel filter it could be pluged, what ever it is picking up is probably settleing after it shuts off.If thats not it your fuel pump may be going out on you. Yes this site is a little slow, life can be very busy but that doesn't mean you have to leave.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I found out I'm still getting fuel and it will still start and run, but then die after a minute or two. Then it might start and run or not. I pull a plug and it's wet. Ground the plug and turn the engine over, no spark. Next day, same thing, it will start. I was wondering if the Ignitor is at fault. It seems to get a little hot. I switched it out with several other ones I pulled from the junkyard. They all work the same. Could they be bad too? A new one is $93. I've already replaced the crank angle sensor in the distributor with a new one I got from a new manufacture in Taiwan. Is the fuel system tied into the ignition? Low fuel pressure causes no spark?

Did you check your timing after you replaced the dist. How do the injectors look? How's the fuel pressure? Just some questions to get you thinking.

I thought that might be it too. I know an ECM from another truck in the junkyard that might be good. The man wants 60 for it. It might do the trick, it might not. With the gas going 3.07 here in Oregon, it might work. Do you have the contact info for the place you got yours fixed?
