| First let me say, welcome to the site..... second... I may be able to help. My mother has a newer B3000, and what I have found is stop looking for parts for a Mazda. No body will ever have them, but instead, tell the dealer you have a Ranger. Ford carries more weight. Now I am assuming that since it is a B2600i that the engine is a 2.6l 4-cylinder, right? Tell the performance counter at any national 4X4 or American racing shop, that you have '91 Ford Ranger with the 2.6l and you need...... Anyways, you will be more likely to find what you need. To help with other accesories for your 4x4, take a look at www.autopartswarehouse.com and look up the ranger.... amazing what you will find. Good luck bud, hope you find what you are looking for. I put a K&N intake on my moms, and a flowmaster dual exhaust system and it made a world of difference for her just to get on the freeway, so if you are just looking for a little boost, you could go that route too.....

| I just got this crazy memory of a ford courier that I had at the shop. We upgraded one of my sandrails that had a mazda rotory 13b engine with a subaru engine, and had his little rotory engine just sitting there. Yep, you guessed it, into the courier! Keep in mind, some careful planning, and many beers went into this project. Yeah right, it went something like this, " dude while your in the fridge, get me another will ya?" "Sure no problem, anyone else ready?" "Where do you want me to throw these empties at?" "Just throw them over there by that old engine, or in the bed of rusty."(the courier) "We should get rid of that junk one day, does that engine run?" "How about the truck?" Then the biggest question of all! "How fast do you think that truck will go with that turbo motor in it?" That was all it took, we dropped what we were doing, and proceded to stick this little powerplant in this old hunk of junk truck. With a set of paddle tires that thing went like a bandit. On the street it would blow the tires off. we stuck a welded toyota axle with 4.56's and little tires under it, man talk about a blast. Those were good times, thanks for posting about a mazda truck, and bringing those memories back. Oh yeah to answer your question, it sounds like a re-built exchange might be the way to go. These engines are pretty cheap, and easy to find. I am not sure how much performance you are gonna get without big time modifications, maybe a fresh engine would serve the purpose a bit better? Or maybe a little more gear in the rear diffrentials? Always sems to help, especially if you are running bigger tirers. |
