| 90 B2200 Died today Well she served me well 211,000 miles with no major breakdowns Just tires, brakes, and oil changes, I have no complaints. Im going to attempt a full overhaul engine rebuild but I know nothing about these F2 B2200 engines any advise will be very welcome. Just one question does anyone know what engines are interchangable can these trucks be upgraded to something bigger without modifications?? Chris In Hawaii |

| Everything can be upgraded to something bigger, depends what you are looking for. Much bigger and you would need a whole powertrain instead of just the power plant, but it can be done. However, considering the year, mileage and stuff, unless there is absolutely no rust, or no other mechanical problems, I think I would let the truck rest in peice and move on. Just what I would do though, ..... your call. But if it is in good shape, and you feel it is worth keeping, then what are you looking to acomplish? I mean, what are you doing with the truck? Show, mud, fun or daily driver? Depending on where you go with that train of thought, should determine the amount of money you would be willing to spend. When you think about it 211,000 miles isn't just on the motor, but on everything else too. As for the rebuild, that depends on parts availibility, because I have seen replacement motors for those mazda trucks run for less then the whole process of rebuilding. I am in the middle of one myself in a B3000. Sorry I can't help you more, but I felt I should express myself here. Good Luck. |

| He is right, in the end it depends on what you are doing, but my opinion here is replace the engine, it will be cheaper, and if you get a warranty, a much better value.

| What happen to the engine? What I did is re-torque the head and adjusted valves when I replaced the timing belt on my 626 it was loose I guess in time it would have blown the head gasket. |
