- Yup, been awhile Rago. How you liking the Suzuki? That is still a wired deal how that trade took place. Hope it worked out for you. The Olds powered truck is on the back burner. But I do have my mind made up now. Its going to be a 455. I sold that bare 425 block for $200 and then bought a 85 Chev K10 rolling chassis for $200. I have pics posted. I was thinking of putting the Olds 455 in the K10, but then decided with the Olds 455, I would want to go T400 and did not want to hassle Tcase adapters being expensive. If I can find the right Tcase cheap, I'd do it. I have a 4 bolt 350 and 700r4 to rebuild and a NP208 to put the 85 back together the way it once was. I may even do the 455 in my 84 3/4 and put the 454 with the 700r4 and NP208 since its a sled peanut port motor until I get the 350 built. This economy has the finances in the ditch so the ChevrOldslet project is on hold, as is the K10 project. When I get my stimulus check in the mail, I'll get after them projects and boost the economy.
- I let you talk me into keeping with Olds engine in that GMC diesel converted truck. But I want a differant 350. Get away from the windowed mains. I hear to much over 5000 rpm in those and they will come apart. 5000 rpm is not that high. I have a buddy bringing me a T400 out of a 67 Buick Riviera for this truck. I even considered going 455, but these engines are not as common as you'd think at pull a part. To much 80's stuff in there. I also considered 403 too, but they are also windowed mains, so I want either 76 or older 350 or 455. It doesn't have to be a new engine, and I hope not to put alot of money is this paticular truck, so I am hoping to find a decent used one with 40-70K miles on a rebuild and bolt it in and run it. Since Olds and Pontiac starter are on the same side and share the same mounts and bell housing, I could even go with a Pontiac motor. Just about anything in the Pontiac line will be OK I think. So with all the options, I hoping to find something laying around that I can pick up cheap.
- well that is a good site u put out
it has ansed alot of my questions
