thats tough man is it fesable to trade your t-case for a 5 bolt model? are the shaft sizes the same?

hey stump you helped me out a few weeks ago with my transmission removal question and i really appreciate that. I finally got my replacement tranny 4l60e for my 1996 chevy 4x4 4.3 a/t got it home and to my horror realized the transfer case wont bolt up to it, my case has a 6 bolt hex pattern and the 1997 4l60e i bought has a 5 bolt pattern..its got me crushed..this was my weekend project..am i screwed or can a get a 6 bolt housing to bolt up my transfer case?
