1985 pickup my friend is tryin to get me to buy his grandpas 85 4x4 5 speed pickup. it has a new 4 banger in it and it drives good. 4x4 works good to. it has all farm miles on it. the body has had some work done on it, the old man had a cow go ape crazy on the little truck and it has new front quarter panels and a hood. he is wantin $1000 cash. i am wonderin if this is too much to pay for this truck.

Look at it this way you could save that amount on gas by buying that little 4 banger like wild bill said make & pictures would help big times.

i don't have pics. i'm in colorado at school right now and my friend is in arkansas, and i don't know what the model is but it is a nissan. it is a little truck though and is a extended cab with the parachute seats in the back. like i said the motor is almost new and all of the miles on it are farm miles. but the little old man that has is only uses it to check cows and haul a little wood every now and again. the tranny is still good and strong and it shifts smooth too. that's all the info that i have on it right now.

if i remember correctly i believe that it has a z24 in it. i've been told that they are extremely good motors and that they are pretty peppy for 4 bangers. i know this truck is. it has 255/75/15's and it will burn em' off from a rollin start without dumpin the clutch. i'm just not sure if i should buy this truck or wait around for a early 80's model ranger like i use to have.

Heck, I'm not even a nissan kinda guy, but I'd jump on that deal in a hurry! I'm not up to speed on engine prices, but I'd say the motor and running gear would be worth that.

See the reply I posted for 1985 engine thread about Nissan minitruck engines. If the truck body is at all decent I would jump on a 1985 minipickup at $1000, even with the 4x4 in it. Last edited by stuvw2mny; 02-17-2009 at 09:44 PM. Reason: clarify language, punctuation
