runs but won't take gas

i have a 1986 nissan truck. don't know much about nissan, but it has the engine with 8 plugs. it will crank and run, but as soon as u give it any gas it bogs down. it will go completely dead if u don't let off the gas. i have checked the fuel pump pressure and the firing, both seem fine. any ideas. thanks.

no it's not flooding out. it will not take gas when i hit the pedal.

Is this a carb engine? more info on what you are working on helps!

yes it is a carb engine. the brether has z24 on it. don't know if that will help. don't know alot about nissan.

If the accelerator pump or diaphragm is getting weak it would go lean on pushing the pedal

Sounds like a clagged filter to me, If the butterflies open it allows more air in , If the fuel isnt ther to support that it will die. The accelerator pump would only cause a momentary stunble.
