97 4X4 manual transmission Question

I am trying to put the transmission back in but cannot get the torsion bars out there is one bolt on the A arm that you cannot get a wrench or socket on anyone know what the best way to get this transmision back in.

why exactly do you have to mess with the torsion bars?? are they in the way?? last tranny i pulled like that just fell right onto my belly and i lifted it back up while someone threw in the bellhousing bolts. how did you get the tranny out to begin with??

you must have had the transfer case off I didnt think you could get it off without the torsion bars and crossmember off.

i cant recall how that setup is on that. can you remove the transfer case without dropping the Xmember??

Talked to cousin he's a mechanic he looked at it on the computer at work said I could pull a clip and beat the torsion bars off the crossmember off looks like its going to take some heat and pen. fluid.

It should r+r in 2 pieces, drop the transfer then the tranny, reinstall the tranny then the transfer

hey man i have a 96 the best way to get to those bolts is with another person and you have to go through the hood. i hope this works for you good luck!!
