| im planning on replacing my Nissan's valve cover and gasket. any helpful hints? i'm assuming the old gasket will come off in several pieces or more of a ring of gunk that needs to be scraped off... if thats the case, what is the best tool to scrape the gasket residue off... im sure a chisel is a bad idea, risking scoring/damaging the gasket surface. plastic scraper/putty knife? also, one of the bolts appears to be stripped, and ive heard of 'helicoil' adapters that you can use to fill in stripped thread holes and make them bite again. any tips/suggestions? thanks a bunch in advance!

| being a 97 it should be a rubber gasket, not cork. helicoils work great, drill it, tap it and done.
