i had this exact same problem with my 97 nissan. i replaced the whole distrib cap and it worked great. cap and rotor (didnt install the new rotor, but i bought it anyway) ran me just over 20 bucks, and it took about 5 minutes to remove the old cap and put on the new. have fun!

OH! almost forgot... the contacts were a little corroded, so i polished up the tip of the rotor with an emery board.

dizzy is what happens when you ride a merry go round to fast, or hold your breath laying down and get up to fast. Never knew that??? OK, jus kiddin !!! This about how you would feel if your were say a rotor cap on a "Distributor" spinning around real fast. There you go, Its a distributor and much easier to type dizzy instead. Dizzy = Distributor. BTW, Welcome to the forum too. You are going to learn all kinds of new jargan here.

Welcome to the forum tljnum1.
Want to be the chaperone ?

Heck with the dizzy,
I want to know if the emery board will still work on my nails.

You may not learn that many new terms here,
but any that come up are ok in mixed company.
