tip o' the iceberg buddy! i also use pliers as tweezers, scissors as nose-hair trimmers (only cuz i cant fit the garden shears up my nose) and i have been known to use pencils as q-tips in emergencies. i'm also the guy that made his roommate turn green by cauterizing a split knuckle with a grill lighter and a pre-heated rangetop. i've also used motor oil as a quick substitute for hair gel, and in a pinch used sawdust, whiskey, and my index finger as a toothbrush/toothpaste combo. you know, cuz the ladies like that kinda stuff. no wonder im a ronery bachelor LMAO

Anyone need any ingrown toenails taken out?? I have become the expert at that. I can tell you why too. More reasons than 1. 1 I don't like going to the Dr, 2 I can do it at my convenience, 3 I don't charge myself a copay, 4, The needles under the toenail from the Dr to cut it out hurt worse than me doing it myself. I get them frequently, both side of my big toes get them, so about every 4-5 months, 1 side of 1 big toe is ready to be done. My Dr noticed it had been awhile and asked how my toes are doing. I told him I been doing it. He asked how, and I started telling him about the Dremel and the cut off wheel and he said OK OK shut up. Stop right there, I don't wanna hear it. Let me see them. I showed them to him and said whatever I am doing, I am doing a fantastic job.

Surprised he didn't want to charge you for telling you that you're doing a fantastic job.

Once I pay the co pay, I have paid for the whole visit no matter what he does, so he probably did charge the insurance company for it. I did not need him to tell me I was doing a good job though. I know by the pain level, and how clean the cut is, that is good. Cutting nail does not hurt. Its if you go to far and hit flesh that it hurts like crazy, so its a matter of being very very careful and steady with the dremel running a couple thousand rpms. Man it sure stinks though. You ever smelled burning finger or toenails? Once I get it cut about a 1/16 in from the cutical, and at the first sign or cutting all the way thru the nail as far as depth, that is where I stop. By the time you have done all that, you have a nice even clean scribe. What little is left, I use this little seal tool for auto transmissions seals and pry the cutoff part away from the main nail. That is when the pain the starts in. Then once its about 2/3 pryed away, get some mini needle nose pliers, grab all I can of the cut off nail so its stronger, then slowly start ripping it back toward the cutical, and the skin will fold back on its own although it hurts like crazy, and just keep ripping all the way back till it lets loose and 95% of the time I get it all. If not, then I have to wait til the next time it needs done and that portion I did not get, has grown out from under the skin. Clean with alcohol and all done. Works great for me. Not much blood, and it only hurts like no other for about 2 minutes. Then all I feel is relief. No time off work, no sitting for an hour at the Dr, and then another hour for the prodedure, no copay. All is well. Only takes me 15minutes from start to finish adding 5 minutes to get the tools and put them away. However, jus kidding about doing anyone elses. If you were interested. . I only do my own, because I can feel I am getting to cutting to close. Doing someone else, I'd end up cutting off the whole toe and you'd never have to worry toe nails again.
