| Over heating Hello This is my first post. I own a 98 nissan frontier 2 wheel drive 4 cylinder with 165000 miles. second nissan truck, first one was a 86 hardbody. Can't really complain My issue is that the frontier is overheating but only on the way home. I drive 108 miles a day 54 each way from Las Cruces N.m. to El paso Tx.. Well the truck Starts to over heat on the drive home at about the mid way point going home (24 Miles or so) into the trek. The temp start to go up I turn on the heater and the temp drop to it normal setting It seem to happen when the truck is under load the ride home although suttle is up hill, and also if the AC is on. Well that being said, this weekend I change the thermastat and done a radiator flush (when I say flush I took off the bottom hose from the radiator and filled radiator with water and then drained did this about 5 time water came out nice and clean) then closed it all up and filled with coolent. Overheating continued after that on monday going home Any advice will be help full. |

| i would check the thermostat and make sure you have good circulation from your water pump also. checking the condition of your oil wouldnt hurt either.

| Personally i'd start with the water pump. If it has an exposed impellor that you can see after removing it wouldnt hurt to check it out. If it is still good a new gaske can't be but a couple bucks at the most.
