Shaking...

so,,, my truck shakes when its idleing and when its running, but it stops shaking when i accelorate above approx. 4,000rpm's.
Also when its idleing i can watch the RPM needle jump up and down a couple of hundred rpm's.

i thought it was the spark plugs, so i replaced them. but it didn't fix it.

could it be the timing????

please help...

oh yeah, i forgot to let you know what kind of truck it is.

it's a '93 nissan p/u, 4x4, se v6, at, with 70k mi.

the last time it had a full tune up was before i bought it, so it would be like a year and a half.

My brother-in-law had the same symptom and found out (took some hair-raising searching) that the distributor had a bare wire exposed inside.

A failing plug wire(s) will have similar effects on engine performance. Sometimes even a small amount of carbon inside of the cap, or even a cracked cap may be the gremlin.
