Lower ball joint????

Hi I am new here and I just recently purchased a 1988 Nissan D21 2wd P/U and the previous owner just installed blocks in the rear and just turned the torsion bars to lower it up front. So I have ordered the 2" drop spindle kit, all new tierods, draglink, idler arm, upper & lower ball joints. I am hoping the lower ball joints are a simple install. In my new lower ball joint bow part is a large c-clip, so I am assuming that the ball joint is simple slip fit via the c-clip. Or are the lower ones pressed in? Also can I do an easy trans swap from 4spd to 5-6 spd?
Thanx in advance,
Bill

i replaced the upper ball joint on my '93 nissan p/u 4x4. and it was really simple. it took me like 5 min. im pretty shure the lower one couldn't be much harder.

I know the uppers are direct bolt in units but the lowers dont have the bolt in unit, they have a C-Clip and I think they are pressed in. I just want to get someone that has done the lower ball joint before to confirm how they are R&R'd.

I have the Nissan service manual from nissan. But I guess I might have to look into other resources for this. My manual doesnt really say much about it.
Thanx,
Bill

im not talking about your owners manual.. it's a book made by a company called "Haynes". and they have every repair listed with pics on how to do everything-step by step-to every vehicle. the books are based on a complete tear down and rebuild. just get the book for the year of your truck.

and they sell them at Advance Auto Parts stores.

mine are bolted in.. yours might be a little different though, cause mines a '93.. but look at the bottom of your ball joint, if theres a bolt on the bottom with a pin, then they bolt it.
