exhaust,

i travel about 50 miles to work every day, would you guys recomend putting a better exhaust on my truck to save on gas?

anything to help the motor breath that is within budget will help. exhaust and air intake should help it get air in and out better.

thank you a friend recommended a flow master but said i would loose a bit of back pressure

the only thing that would harm would be bottem end torque but with that truck it shouldnt even be a concern. If it is a daily driver i wouldnt worry.

Back pressure is needed for your EGR. Full lengths headers will render your EGR useless therefore, not passing emission. With just a cat-back system you're fine. As long as you don't get those full headers. If you want to get headers I recommend the shortys a direct replacement in most cases and a lot of times it'll say "50 state legal".....check though. Edelbrock is famous for "50 state legal" shorty headers. Oh yeah, if replacing the muffler, you should also replace the cat to the better flowing ones. All in all, you'll be okay.
