| Hey guys, just wondering if theres a way to track down vehicles that we used to own but were forced to abandon them or were left when we moved? Just curious, my dad was telling me of a Ford Pinto that he left in Texas.

| hmm. bout the only thing I know is you can call the sheriff's department for the county it was registered in and see what they can come up with. any time vehicle is towed in Texas they have to alert the fuzz in the case someone thinks their car was stolen... don't think you will have much luck though.... after so long on an impound lot it will be auctioned.

| Thanks, I doubt I'll have much luck since the car was left there in 1982. Just thought it would be neat to find out what happened to it. Ive only ever seen pictures of it.

| Bud, if your dad still has the VIN number you can track it down through carfax or Experian and it will give you a history till now.... might help

| about 7 years ago my Cadillac broke down on I-35 North somewhere in IOWA I had to leave it on the road but I managed to push it to an off ramp and got it off the Interstate. anyways I hitch-hiked to Minnesota and stayed there for about 3 weeks I worked and bought a truck and headed back home to Nebraska. and expected to see some kind of letter in the mail telling me to pick up my car in IOWA but to my surprize there was nothing??? So I got on the phone and started calling the IOWA state patrol and authorities looking for my car, I finally found it called the impound lot and they told me they were going to crush my car that day I said BS I'm coming to get it today. when I got there I noticed they had popped my locks off and for reason thought they needed to search my car. I was pissed but what could I do? The point of the story is it was less than a month they had my car and if I didnt call that day it would have went to the crusher and my car was and is in great condition for being a 78' they just wanted to get the scrap money out of it. Good luck tryin to find your pinto
