1954 Ford Customline - What can you tell me Hey folks, My wife and I currently ride and own a 99' Roadstar Silverad 1600 motorcycle. Which we both love to ride. Annie (the bike) is in terrific shape and a wonderful ride. But it hurts my back to ride very much anymore. So the wife and I talked it over and decided to trade the bike off and see what we could get. Well in about 30 min a young Soldier from Fort Bragg will be heading this way with his car on a trailer to come and trade me for my Annie. The car he is bringing us is a 1954 Ford Customline, 4dr, 3 on the tree (column mounted manual shift), 223 CI in line 6, 6 volt. So what I was wondering is, does anyone know anything about these cars? Any major flaws or problems I need to look for before we trade? I know most of you are young and many will be wondering what this car even looks like. But I thought someone might know someone who had one. Thanks for the help, Hammer

if you cant ride a bike nomore then a classic car is tthe next best thing. the engine is a great engine so you shouldt have any problems there. as long as its a rust free car i wouldnt worry. i would get under it and have a good look at the belly to make sure it hasnt been wrecked and improperly fixed but she looks clean so i wouldnt worry

be mindful about what is or could be potentially wrong with the car. if this is going to be a sunday driver, then you should be ok. i dont know alot of people that could get you a new generator if that one was to go out, for example. that is a sweet ride though. dont see alot of those anymore. id get it and take it to show every chance i got.

What I can share is that my brothers 1955 olds that he bought came with a 3000 thousand mile warranty when new that's nothing compare to now. Now some people say that they just don't make cars the way they did in the old days but if you look at them now some cars have 100,000 mile warranty plus one can get in there car and drive it 24 hours a day without having to adjust the valves and so on.
