i tried everything with the map and have concluded that is the computer. trying to down load a patch for my scanner and vista is being a pain about that too.

I have Vista and I was able to add myself easy enough.

Vista works great if you disable all the garbage you dont need, and if your machine is Overdosed on memory. I have a Toshiba laptop with 4gb of ram, and Vista runs ok.

i really need to update mine. old AMD processor with a stick of 512. but does run XP with no problems.

My linux server is that flavor.. But my primary computer is my laptop it is also my gaming machine. So I needed the juice.
I'm a certified computer technician (retired), so when I buy systems I get them setup to my specs.

i found an acer this past weekend that i kinda favor. triple core AMD with 6gb ddr2 ram. wants 500 for the tower. no way can i build mine up to that for the same price since my motherboard will not support that chip nor that much memory.

not here and not anymore. the trucks here stopped going to Cali long ago. now it is all regional.

Unless your running Vista Professional 64 or XP64 with multicore support, then a tri-core is a waste of money, as your only going to be using one core anyways. I dont like Acer... I'll check my source, I dont know if they ship to the US though..
