| this is why bald tires are not recommended! Okay, so I had an interesting day the other day.... This is almost an unbelievable story and I sooooooooooo wish I had a video to relate, but of all the times NOT to have my camera..... LMAO My buddy's house is on a Main street. Technically he has only on street parking. However, between his house and his neighbors is an alley way that is never used, so this has been adopted as his driveway. Now the benefit for me is that with as wide as my truck is, I do not run the risk of getting hit having it parked on the side of the road... BUT does this prevent accidents? read on.... This alley way is graded downward towards a back alley with about a 10% decline.... It is NOT plowed, nor maintained by the city. Jim pulled his truck down the alley so I can fit behind him. For about two weeks now, this has been all ice and I have had no issues. I pulled in today, parked behind him. Let up off the brake and the truck slid about a foot and came to a rest on some gravel... no big deal right? Okay, so i go inside. We are talking about work and some plans and all of a sudden, about twenty minutes after I came in, Jim looks at me and says... "Uh dude, your truck is moving!" I was like, "WHAT?" ran to look out the window. It began to slide, right into the assend of his Dodge Ram 1500! BANG... knocked his truck loose and it took off down the alleyway. His hit dry pavement and came to a screetching halt about two inches away from creaming the side of a Pontiac Grand Am parked in front of it. Meanwhile, my truck is also just sliding away down the alley! We both go running outside and at this point caught the tail end of this fiasco! Due to raming the Ram, the rear end of my truck slid out to the left and instead of barraling down the alley and hitting the Dodge, yet again.... It turned and took out the wooden fence at the bottom of their property! OMG, I mean think about this for a second.... this fence is a wooden slatted fance and it was just hit by an F250 with a GWR of 8800 lbs! Needless to say, the fence needs repaired. Due to the ride height of the F250, my bumper did not meet the bumper of the dodge... My TOW HOOK did! So there is a nice hole in his bumper now... but other then that, his truck is fine. After we checked out his, and the fence I looked at mine.... I hit a truck and took out a fence.... I do not even have a scratch! NO LIE! We were laughing histerically! The neighbors heard the rucuss and came running out to investigate.... We got donations of bags of salt and spent about 30 minutes salthing the ever loving s*** out of the alley behind all the tires and more. I locked my hubs and used 4Lo to get un wedged from the fence... still, NO SCRATHES! Now like I said, we are laughing histerically here and are in total disbelief..... His truck parks on this ice all day and all night, BUT actually has decent tires on it, and I know if I had something stronger then bald tires, this could have been avoided! LMAO.... But I tell ya, I will never forget the feeling of looking out the window and seeing my running lights ride by while Jim is saying.... "DUDE!!!" LMAO To top it all off... this was the START of my day... yeah what a blast the rest of it was! LMAO. Meanwhile I have ordered new tires. They should be in this week. I will post pics and my personal review once they are installed. Hopefully, this is the only time my truck ever hits anything again, at least without me in it! LMAO

| I wish it was that simple. I have been stuck before, but what kills me and keeps me laughing about this.... is that it sat there fine for twenty minutes! I mean Newtons law indicates that an object in motion, remains in motion unless acted upon by an outside force right? as well as an object at rest, remains at rest until acted upon by an outside force.... so what has me concerned with this, is what was the outside force? If it was gonna take off down the driveway, why didn't it happen right away? LMAO

| As you drive, your tires heat up from the friction between them and the road. When you stop on ice, the heated up tires melt the ice. Since wet ice is one of the slipperiest substances, it would take much less force to get it started. Once it starts (as you pointed out) an object in motion stays in motion. Until it hits a Dodge Ram! ![]() |

| okay, but according to this theory, once heated and melting the ice, would I not create a little divit for the tire to rest in? I bet that is why i had a hard time getting out after staying a while.... LMAO

| It takes a while for the "divit" to form, but that point it would already start sliding. |

| if I had parked any further away from the Dodge, i think the damage would have been worse.... in a way I was sorta lucky.... But I do not park there anymore. especially since he just bought a new one two days ago, he would KILL me if I hit that one! LMAO
