Smile My houses brick color.

Hey guys my house has white brick now I was wondering is there anything out there that can change the color of my brick because it would look super if the brick was red in color. I know that my buddy dyed the cement to the back of his houses porch to match his houses red brick.
Thanks! GMC
PS-I wonder how expensive the stuff is and what is involved in doing the work or what the charge would be? I do know that they have paint that one can paint over brick but I just don't like the way it looks the red color would make my house look more up-dated because newer houses now days are using that color brick plus it would look good with my new roof color, don't get me wrong the color of my roof looks good with my white brick but I was just thnking of this idea and maybe my house value would go up.

Hebron Brick Company : Brick Colors and Photos Wait for picture to load it's that color of brick that im talking about or something in that line.

Leo I have the trim work already done with Sears siding or that aluminum siding from Sears on the trim already but im thinking of replacing it with hardy board because all the wood behind the siding is messing up. So people don't place Sears siding or any siding that these companies want to sell you on your homes in time it's going to mess up the wood that it's nailed too. Plus Sears wants $100.00 dollars to come out and see if it was installed wrong well I can't see it was it's just that the wood is rotting behind it. What a waste of money that I paid. What do you guys thinking about what's happening? I priced the Hardy materials today I should have done that from the get go but I don't think it was out at that time if I remember correct. Hey guys I think thats where my stereo install money is going im doing little by little till the whole house is done my house means more to me than a stereo.

the wood can only rot because of moisture or insects, so which is it. did they caulk the trim in so water would not get behind the aluminum?

No Leo they caulk the siding but it's all over-lapped so would that keep the water out? Because I have lifetime warranty but they want $100.00 dollars just to come out and look at it which I think is bad because they can just say it's installed correct and there goes my cash in five minutes. I know that my neighbor had hardy board applied to all of his house meaning all the soffits & trim boards and it was chalked which to me is a good idea.

If you have a lifetime warranty, then they are trying to get out of it by charging 100 dollars to do it......... and wood will rot and warp for Many many reasons, a couple could be effected by the siding..... but as for the siding causing the wood to rot..... It may have been soft when they were installing, and like many siding installers, didn't say anything to you about it....( I know how they work, I was one for over a year... and It pissed me off when my co-workers cut corners like that....) as for hardy board, welcome to painting about every 2 years, to keep it looking in top shape...... personally on the eves, and gabled ends I would do aluminum soffit and facia, and replace the wood behind the siding(or threaten sears with a lawsuit) and go that route. I have seen bricks stained before, and some work great and others don't stain quite as well, and you can tell. Just My opinion, but the route I would go is to do a trim color that brings the white to a more modern look.......

Batty I was thinking of having just the aluminum on the trimming placed back that way I won't have to be painting it every so many years I think with the hardy board sealed correct and it's some good stuff that it should be fine till I die then someone else can deal with it. What do you think Batty & guys? And the reason for putting it on to start with from the get go is because im disabled and I want my house maintenance free as possible.
Thanks! GMC
PS-I did install my water heater with my son and I made it to when it goes out again in years to come it's going to be easy to change out I used those braided stainless steel flexible hoses so it's going to be easy the nest time. Plus did you know that the hoses I used are cheaper than the copper flexible hoses? Before it was plumbed all with PVC pipes.

GMC can you post a pic of a window? As Batty says there are a lot of ways to trim windows, some guys don't care as long as it looks good when they are done.
Fyi they do have paint for aluminum trim now

does noone use vinyl siding for the soffets anymore?? i used to see stuff like that done all the time. hardy planks are nice looking but i heavily agree with the painting bit. i am all about no maintenance. all my lattice at the house is that UV protected plastic stuff. yeah i spent more on it but it looks great year after year and cleans with a rag. takes more abuse than the wooden lattice as well.
