My self-intro ? more of a warning... "pictures are worth a thousand words" was my theory. This gives a hint as to why I sometimes take a different view of methods. These are all from a ten foot area and are recently used items except the car which is going in trash. BTW that's not a speed handle, that's a ratcheting reversable brace and it's way older than anyone in this forum, some by triple haha. The car was something I coached one of my sons build when he was in fifth grade as school project. He did all the work including shaping and welding the acrylic and the remote programing, it even has working headlamps, stop and reverse lights. Tank-like performance and bullet-proof to a 22. LOL What's in, or doesn't belong in, your tool box ? BTW shd, there are NO explosives pictured, so don't ask. . ![]() . ![]()

That's a cutout for a snowman but he lost his head. Now he catches oil drips. Moos that's duct tape AND STRING. I live in the big city and baling wire is in short supply Neighbor 4yo girl stole my gum. Something I am stupidly proud of. I had built boxes that ride on the tongue of a trailer so I could carry 4 batteries out there away from live seafood. This was a winter time op and big storms at road speed push water inside. Because of the physical harsh treatment this box would get, and because it would be handled by others not just me, I needed something to lock out 90mph wind/rain yet have no catches to forget to lock or seals that would tear loose. Therefore what I needed was a lip on the leading(truck) end of box. It also was where I needed hinges so the box would naturally blow closed on the road instead of float open. I also moved the lip for the rear (trailer) end of box to inside the box and extended the lid to the trailer's front wall so that there would be nowhere for the air/water to invade. Turns out that this design improved mileage as well, 15.5 beats 15mpg. Lucked out. I had seen lips on the free end of doors before but not on hinge side. Also I needed this lid to open past 90 deg so work could be done in box with out a prop for lid or it falling on my head. It's therefore my prototype/scale model for the box, as I worked out the offsets for the hinges that would allow such a thick lip to clear box. It was like doing a puzzle based on imagination. That whole box was great. I set the sides long on it, below tongue frame so it could move from trailer to trailer without dealing with fasteners of any kind. That box had over 35,000 miles on it at 10 years when I got rid of the worn out trailer and moved box to next one. The reason I needed a good box was it contained not just the 4 batts, but also the relays and control circuits for monitoring the trailer's air and water temps from each bin of crab or fish, air pump flow rates, pressures and temps, water pump flow rates, and sending all this to my custom designed display up in the cab by serial data connections. That way I always knew what was going on in the trailer without leaving my warm dry seat. I could make certain adjustments from cab. Yes I designed and built the whole set-up, who would sell such a thing ? It's the same reason I put a "back up" camera inside the trailer. Ahh, toys. Makes one a "Happy Camper" and a "Techy Camper" too. Give me a diode and a place to stand, and I'll move the Earth.

Funny thing is there were no comments on my 4' pipe wrench which I'm getting to old to be happy about even lifting any more. I assume you all have home smelting pots and valves with stainless 3' handles. And there of course is a perfectly good reason why my giant bolt cutters is completely covered in electrical tape. All the folks at the home here do crafts...

Doesn't have a makers name on it but I don't think so. I have several 5? of these from different eras and love them. That one has great hardwood on it as do the others. Here's another weird one for you: when I first started getting into an off-brand form of martial arts in my much younger crazy days, I needed something that would increase the strength of my forearms and give quicker wrist movements and crush strength. Turns out these were perfect to use for workouts for that. Use just one hand on the center handle and cause the tool to rotate around it while keeping your hand basically still. The difficult rotation is clockwise when in right hand and counterclockwise while in left hand. Even with a modern speed handle, most folks would be looking at a serious burn in about a minute. Oddly, using one in each hand in tandom rotations is better for core strength and alignment than a hula hoop. And I know you gmc, somewhere you still have a hula hoop. LOL
