I am guessing this is the out of the back of a manual transmission. If I am correct I have no idea which one. If I am not correct, then I have no idea. Anyhoo, I am looking for some guidance here. Can any of you tell me what this came out of?

looks kinda big. large 9 and 10 speed eaton trannies have something like that. the gear there is not really a gear but is part of the speedo. you have a sensor that screws into the housing that reads off each tooth. this is what it looks like to me. the yoke looks like something that would come off something large too. not a log dog as the bulldawg gears use a larger yoke for the oversized u joints. personally, i think it would make a great trotline weight.

That gear is kind of heavy just to be for a sensor. I will not allow a good part to go to waste. I would rather find out what it is for and get it to some one who can use it.

you say heavy but is anything what you would call light on your dueces?? yes that gear is big and heavy. that whole tranny is big and heavy. ever taken one of those big boys apart?? there are about 3 shafts with multiple gears all over them plus another if your tranny is equipped with a PTO drive. the overdrive box that mounts to the back of the tranny for the extra 5 speeds in a 15 or 6 speeds in a 18, weighs a good bit too. that is what it looks like to me. i can tell you that it doesnt go to a Mack. now that i look at it, that might be a drive for a power divider. know what i mean??

I think it came from something smaller. I had this way before I ever got into dueces.

I did some research and it may have come out of a 203 0r 208 chain driven transfer case. Does any one here want it? Just pay the shipping and I will send it.

What is this and what does it go to ???????? You knew when you put that title on the thread it would DEMAND to be read. Sounded like some of the talk from when I first started dating. Back then there was no electricity and we had to do everything by feel. Thinking about you not wanting to just chuck useable items but having no ready takers for maybe a lot of it, I had an idea. Maybe you should take some pix of what you'd like to part with, and then shop them around with the "local" salvage yards. Parts have a better chance at a new home, don't crowd you, and maybe you can even smooz some "store credit" as well. On the job front, remember the military frequently hires civilians as instructors by rule. A not really advanced class my son just took starts instructors a little over 6 figures, though not your field. Some branches are currently pushing their military conected police departments right now. might want to think about centering your search nearer bases or major met areas (shades of homeland security?). Just think, when you do tie up a job, you'll get to hear folks say "oh, sure, YOU got it easy! You HAVE a job!" And if nothing else, from your experience in and near the military, you probably well know that action and results are blood brothers. Keep swinging - I'll be quite now.

I do hate to see good parts go to waste. We live next to Fort Benning. That is where I prefer to work. Now that my cloths arrived from Iraq (not all of them) I am going to go knocking on some doors.
