Question Home central A/C unit help. (BAD)

Need help with home A/C unit.
My Goodman condenser fan went out so I had a A/C repair man replace it days ago and he also replaced a small capacitor well I notice tonight that my A/C is not cooling like if the compressor isn't turning on because the copper line going into the house isn't cold and has no condensation do you members think that it could be a big capacitor that wasn't replaced on the condenser or leading to the compressor?
Thanks! GMC
PS-PLEASE HURRY it's hot here in Texas. Say I also noticed that the contacts are pushed in when it's powered up but they release once I turn off the power that's why im thing it's the big capacitor what do you experts think? HURRY.............................PLEASE.......... ........

I think the repairman did not do a complete service job on it and should not charge you for a return call

you are not going to like what i tell you. being that your fan has gone done, your compressor unit probably toasted itself if its very old at all. this is a bit different than the units in autos. most of the times, the capacitor runs both the fan and the compressor. if your fan ate itself due to failure of the capacitor, i would be willing to bet that it ate the compressor also.
if you have 2 different capacitors, take a multimeter out and test the microferits on the capacitor to see if they are up to snuf. being that the suction line is not cold at all, i would say toast. do you know what size unit this is??

It was the bigger capacitor for the compressor. He replaced the capacitor for the blower motor the other day im just glad that it wasn't my cmpressor giving out and all I was charged was $50.00 dollars which im very happy with it since I suffered all night in hot blowing air around my house with fans.
Thanks! GMC
PS-I was thinking that was going to be the problem. Oh he had also replaced my blower motor the other day because that's what went wrong with it from the get go while I was out of town. So im happy with that $50.00 dollar charge and all before 8:00 AM

My compressor has warranty yet but it was another company that did the work I remember it was in the winter time when they were hurting for money so I had them replace the whole unit the up-stairs & downstairs units for a good price or I did a little wheeling & dealing I remember I didn't even pay taxes but don't tell uncle sam about it.

I’ve been a certified HVAC tech. for 20 years and although there were times that I suspected a capacitor it usually was not. That guy should never have left without the suction line being cold.
I don’t know all the details of your system but the 1st thing I check is the relay that energizes the compressor, unless it’s obvious the condenser fan is not turning. 90% of all AC problems are electrical like a relay or control, unless there is a leak. Leaks only happen if the original brazing wasn’t done right or the unit wasn’t cleaned occasionally. I see rotted condenser units all the time from dogs using it as a fire hydrant. The only other way for a leak besides someone putting a bullet hole in it is if there is compressor burn out which is always caused by an overlooked electrical problem causing the compressor to cycle on or off.
If you keep the condenser clean. You have a 5 minute delay timer for power bumps and you repair any electric problems right away, that unit should last 20 years. Oh, also keep those filters changed.
