My cheap parts washer .

always being short on MONEY , i need a parts washer , had a 55 gal drum , a old basement sump pump and a idea , what follows a a cheap ($0.00) one , commits and suggestions welcome , and yes it will be water based solvent either dawn or the green stuff .

and the pipe out of the pump will branch off into two 1" pipes one with a garden hose and sprayer , the other will have a brush set up of some kind .

i made one out of a ATF drum once but that was several years ago. yours will be very large say the least. alot bigger than the one we made. should go great with the press you built.

ours is a big metal box sitting on top of a 55gal drum, but we dont use water based stuff....

I just take my parts to the Mine shop, and use the washer there..... you know, put it in, close the door, start it, and 20 minutes later..... clean parts!!!........ I know, Im a bit bragative(like the new word?)..........

well when theres alot of stuff i just drop it somewhere to be hot tanked, but for small odds and ends stuff, throw it in the parts washer

i use the parts washer at work too. i always end up clogging the filters.

it's only about 30 gal as i cut the drum about haft way up , used the the top with the lid ring as the bottom base .
