| Beware - More Idiot Sightings.. Be Careful Out There: IDIOT SIGHTING : We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. He shook his head and said, 'Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.' I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, 'NO, it's not.' Four is larger than two...' We haven't used Sears repair since. IDIOT SIGHTING: My daughter and I went through the McDonald 's take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter. She said, 'you gave me too much money.' I said, 'Yes Iknow, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill back.' She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request. I did so, and he handed me back the quarter, and said 'We're sorry but they could not do that kind of thing.' The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change.. Do not confuse the clerks at McD's. IDIOT SIGHTING : I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call the local township administrative office to request the removal of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road. The reason: 'Too many deer are being hit by cars out here! I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore.'

| i know people like that. story time.......... man just had a 475 cat gone through with new liners, pistons, yada, yada. unfortunately, it had some blowby which was decided to be a ring problem. before i say what eventually happened, i was not there nor was i anywhere involved. you want an explanation, you would have to find who done it. the guy took his truck to another shop to have it checked out. why he didnt go to the original shop, we will never know. the guy at the second shop recommended opening up the breather and letting the engine draw in a handful of borax powder for the purpose of scratching up the cyl walls. guess how that worked. problem got worse so he took it back to the original shop. mechanic opened up the intake and found the borax and said, im not touching that. 15K later with all new stuff, he vowed never to do that again. to this day, we really dont know what the original problem was, but i can tell you what not to do. |

| I work at a tool repair shop and this kind of stuff happens everyday. It was a Wednesday me and my boss had just opened up the shop it is 7:30 in the morning. A gentlemen walks in with his 12" Hitachi Miter Saw. i am standing in the back of the shop and i hear the guy come in and talk to my boss. i elect to stay at my bench and listen. The guy says to my boss the saw is making this terrible noise i think its the bearing by the blade was bad. My boss is curious so he plugs the saw in and turns it on. I was startled by the loud noise that came from this saw. my boss shuts the saw off and lifts the blade guard up and checks the blade and it was loose. not saying anything to the guy at the counter he procedes to come in the back to get a wrench to tighten the blade and says to me the blade is loose on this guys saw. He grabbed the wrench and went back out and tightened the blade up and turns the saw on and and hums just like it should. The guy is in disbelief. he said "but it was making this terrible noise" so my boss tells him the blade was loose so i tightened it up for you. The guy then says to my boss "i'm glad you able to fix the saw i have a crown molding job i have to do this morning and i don't know what i would have done" my boss then asks him how long the saw has benn making this noise for in reply "its been making this noise for about two weeks now its been difficult making cuts with this saw". the guy says thanks and walks out of the shop.

| My own story... I was in D.C. working for the "Man". It was one of those deals where they picked me up each day in a windowless van and took me to a building with an underground garage. I couldn't have a cell phone or email durring the day. Well there was a death in the family and my wife called my office to reach me. They booked a flight home for me that night. The "Man" dropped me off at the airport. The flight was cancelled but... there are three big airports near D.C. so they switched me to a flight out of another airport and gave me a cabfare voucher. I hop in the cab out front and the driver says, "where to?". I respond, "Dulles, please". He puzzles, "Dulles???". "Yes. Dulles!", I say. I'm thinking this has got to be the dumbest cabbie in all D.C. "Where?", he tried again. "Dulles!, D-U-L-L-E-S, Dulles, the airport! the one named after Dulles! How can you not know where Dulles is and drive a cab?", I rudly replied. "But Sir, Sir we are already at Dulles", he said. I looked around outside the cab and meekly said, "oh, um, National, please." For the long ride to National I tried, unsuccessfully, to dissappear into the rear seat.
