my roommate's cat has taken a sudden liking to me (its lived with us for nigh on 6 months now, and paid no attention to either of us until about 2 weeks ago) and has decided that my chest is now her sleeping pad. i wouldnt mind so much if she just hopped up, laid down and sat still, but like all cats shes gotta hop up, stare at me for 5 minutes, turn around 3 times, stick her browneye in my face, stretch, turn around 3 times in the other direction, sharpen the claws, nuzzle my chin, and then finally lay down. makes playing Gran Turismo extremely difficult. looks like im trying to steer a big ball of fur.

Tail/Gears

Bernie, what if you were to take a piece of carpet or tarp and teepee it over the gear/chain area near the motor box? Suspended from the ceiling with safety wire and hooks. That way the cat's tail can't find it's way into the Danger Zone? Knowing the cat though, he'll think it's part of his new perch and try to lay on it.

I went real simple... Screwed a piece of 2x4 across the supports so there's no room for him to lay his fat butt now.

Weazie finally "allowed" me to take a picture of his scar today, though he wasn't pleased about showing off his hairless belly.

If you build a tree for him in the garage please don't put it anywhere near the gears. I would place it somewhere far away from the gears.

He's got a perfectly good cat tree in the house that he enjoys Beverly. But, he's just like a little boy, always wanting to be with "daddy" in the garage. The 2x4 I put up there keeps him from climbing up there to sleep (can't lay down now), so now all I have to do is stop him from knocking everything off the workbench to play with things. Just went out there a few minutes ago and found him in the middle of the garage with all my plastic sink drain washers, having fun batting them around on the concrete. As if he didn't have enough "milk rings" in the house to play with...

I saved another one

We had another visitor this past month who I saved and sent off to get better...his name is buddy, he was starving when he showed up here, all 4 pounds of him...we gave him food and noticed he had a broken leg. He ate like a horse for 2 days before we could get him to the vet.

He had ringworms, tapeworms, was covered in fleas, broken ear, broken leg, it was dislocated from the hip too mind you, and was severly emaciated.

He is doing better now, had shots for the worms and fleas, now has warm home and people to love him, waiting until he gets a little weight back before surgery. Could very well be a brother of the first one they look so alike..

Here she is again same tail, same fur

That top one is a Maine Coon, or at least a Maine Coon mix. The lower one, with the kitten, is a longhair tabby/calico mix. Possibly with some Coon in her as well.

After the surgery, when he's able to travel, if he still needs a home let me know. We've been thinking of getting a buddy for ours ("partner in crime" is how I think of it) and could give him a good home.
