| Nutty Cat Okay, my nutty cat has always liked the garage because it's his "hunting" territory. He chases and catches just about any bug out there, as well as the occasional mouse. His favorite spot out there has been on top of my g/f's Dakota, usually curled up asleep at the very top of the cap. Now though, he's discovered a whole new place to sleep out there, one which he may soon regret... on top of the garage door opener. I've tried explaining to him that fur and tails don't mix well with gears and belts, but he just ignores me. So now, my project for tomorrow is to figure out a way to either keep him off it, or at least make it safe for him to be up there. Sigh... cats!

Seriously though, he has a "cat tree" in the livingroom that goes almost to the ceiling, with plenty of places to lie and watch everything. It's right in a window, with a bird feeder just outside. Perfect spot for a cat, right? Nope... he prefers the garage. So, tomorrow, I'll see what I can do with some carpet, plywood and angle iron to add a platform above the door opener in such a way that it keeps him out of the gears.

| Our cats do stuff like that as well. You never know where you will find them. The other day they were under the horse trailer eating a squrl they caught.

| Double sided sticky tape, they HATE walking on that stuff, although it doesn't stop the dog.

What I'm going to do, if I ever get off the computer today, is just use some angle iron and a piece of plywood and make a platform for him that sits just a 1/4" above the belt and pulley housing. Enough room for it to move without rubbing, and too little for him to get into it. He can sleep on the platform if he wants.

| squirt the little ****** with a super soaker when you find him up there. he'll learn quick he shouldnt be up there. i soaked my roommate's cat once when i caught it in my room... now i can leave the door open all day long and it doesnt dare go in. ...or just throw the switch while he's up there, that'd teach him too.
