Maybe not the lower, but I've always retorqued heads and intakes after a 100 miles or so.

Must be some newfangled thing then, 'cause we always did it "back in the old days"...

You youngsters have it too easy these days. Why, when I was your age, ratchet wrenches only worked in one direction, and if you wanted a 12 pt. socket you had to combine two 6 pt. ones. And it was a 5 mile trip to the toolbox, in 12 inches of snow, uphill BOTH ways!

Well now a days everything is a torque to yield bolt as far as I understand it. I have heard about retorqueing head bolts well at least one of the old timers told me that.
