Thank goodness for home inspections huh? My sister ended up buying an older house that the inspector missed alot of stuff, and They had black mold growing behind the sheet rock in half the house........ not good.... anyway, keep your eyes open, You'll find a good one that is what you want.

You got something against s**tty workmanship ?

Remember two things:
1) You can't afford a perfect house.
2) One's never been built.

i can't afford a house that's not able to be insured either. the basment was layed with cement block, yet one wall was poured, furthur inspection showed the poured wall was leaning 15*'s out and was supporting a cement block wall behind it that had failed. they still couldn't tell me where the well was and could be next to the septic for all i know. i could have overlooked the minor things such as the non-grounded outlets and what not.

Ahh yes, the difference between a "fix-er-upper" and a "blow-er-upper"

if it had more land, that's what i would have done, but 20k is a lot of money for half an acre of land up here plus the cost of the house demo.
