I'll second that, that gives us real techs a bad name. He should have just made the costumer aware of the issue, left it as is and tried to get the costumer to understand the potential problems if he were to just put in back in correctly. Then try to make a sell to purchase a new one.(I know it is your truck GMC but talking relatively) At least that is what I would have done.

Your right that's how they could have made money as is the up there prices on parts a lot that's why I just took in the new filter and had the same guy do it since I had already tipped him. I know some shops push on selling parts but this was a needed part that made a lot of since to replace.
