Try doing the bleach again, and let it sit for a few hours before flushing it with hot water. The bleach won't hurt the pipes at all, so you can repeat it as needed.

Will do. I let sit for about an 1 1/2 so over night should do it. Your suggestion reminds me of direction on the shampoo bottles. Lather rinse and repeat if necessary.

Funny that I'm the only one to remember fun science experiments as a kid.

Vinegar and baking soda!!!

Most plumbers will tell you over the counter (liquid plumber, drano etc) is a joke.

I have used Bernies suggestion MANY times no negative results.

To add 2 more plumbing suggestions.

If you have a septic tank(we got off of ours a couple years ago) the guy that pumped ours said flush a packet of bakers yeast( I think like .50 a packet grocery store) once a month will break down the solid waste in your tank and WAY cheaper than store bought products.

If you have a garbage disposal once a week, month(depending on usage) dump a couple of cups of SOLID(cubes etc) NOT CRUSHED ice in it and run. That will get the mush out (UNLESS you are one of "those" people that think chicken bones and such are meant to be put in it). A glug of bleach periodically helps keep the smell down!

i've used both, and i prefer drano, i find it works like magic. i've even used it in plastic/pvc piping, just dilute it with lots of water.

i used liquid plumr once and the vapors stung my eyes, so i tend not to go near it anymore.

Reason I learned to solder copper was to make vinegar/baking soda "guns"

Whole lemons are good for smell inside.
Orange juice poured on sink and allowed to run into drain and sit 20 mins
is good for top end that is hard to deodorized.

I refrained from the lemon suggestion only 'cause I know what citrus and bleach do together.

I figured we'd have that ONE person dumping bleach, drano, vinegar, baking soda and lemon in all at once.
