i didnt know you could buy something for your computer so that the cell phone could talk to it. if this is possible, can i hook my cell phone up to it and use the internet to make calls instead of using minutes on a plan that i have NEVER gone over on??
Could just get yourself a Vonage account. That's what we have and we love it. Runs us under $30 per month (with taxes) and we can call anywhere in the world. The best part though is that we can take our phone and # with us when we travel. Just take along the little Vonage box, hook it up to the net and bingo, we're in business.

Not sure if they still do it, but it used to be if you signed up and tell them who recommended you then we each get a month free.

Let me know if you want to do it and I'll PM you the name to tell them.

we have our phone and internet packaged together. 30 bucks a month aint too bad though and might require some research into. friend of mine went into that vonage thing and loves it. he is also doing something else that i will have to sit down and write about that is real interesting.

This going to be a weekend at Bernie's thing ?

If you have net then you can go to Walgreens or Radio Shack or similar
and get a Majic Jack to use a regular phone (with number) over net.
About $20 a year.
Was going to do that because I was paying ATT for LD service
on home phone, but I never used LD. Canceling LD on home phone
saves me about $84/yr for something I don't use.
Got as far as canceling ATT LD, but never bothered to get Majic Jack.
So I'm saving $104/yr
BTW brad did you kill my modified dog pix ? they're gone now.

I can't speak from personal experience, but every single person I know who has tried Magic Jack has hated it. The most common complaint I've heard is that the line quality is horrible. The second most common I've heard is that it just goes dead, for no apparent reason, and stays dead for hours at a time.

Like I say though, I have no personal experience with it.

it wasnt me. all i see is a red x.
my home phone including free long distance and all the features runs about 65 bucks. i think with the internet and taxes it runs between 75 and 80.

I'm guessing that's closer to dial up than T4.

OK here's your dog again
