Club

I have been thinking about creating an GNW area 4x4 club. It's all just in my head right now, and I have a few other people who are interested. I have everything worked out as faar as membership, bylaws, tread lightly, etc. I just need to get it off the ground and running. Any ideas?

There is a rover club down in Seattle, but it's too far to keep going down there for meetings and such. And when I was corresponding with one of the members, he let me know that they only have 2 women's runs a year and then they usually use the wives/gf's for photographers. So I was alittle put off by that. Then they don't want the old '69 Rover on romps with them, they don't like to waste time fixing things, just playing. So that was 2 strikes against them. I won't give them another chance to get the third strike, LOL. I'll just make my own club and rules. I personally think it's fun to fix the old tanks, just as long as it's not too catastrophic, if you know what I mean.

I would never join a club that does not welcome old rigs.

Ya that seems silly if they were true enthusiast they would welcome it. Sounds like a bunch of young ***** just wanting to look cool and play.

Actually, they are a bunch of 50-70 year olds with alot of money. They would rather run around in a 70K Range Rover than really enjoy tinkering with, learning about, and bonding with an older vehicle. As far as being able to fix something broken, I would rather fix either the '69 Rover or the '74 MG over trying to figure out my '04 Rover.

I think, after talking with alot of people, that we will shoot for a short wheel base 4x4 club. We talked about that because the trails we frequent are too tight for a long truck, even a regular single cab Ford 150 or similar. They were ment for ATVs. I hate to discriminate against good folks and my girl friend has a jeep as well as several of our friends. IS ANYONE IN THE GREATER NW REGION OF WASHINGTON STATE that would be interested?

Isn't it sad what having alot of money does to people. However, must be the a hole in me, but they put their pants on just like I do and I treat them as such. IF they choose to be arrogant and snooty, I can play that game better than them, and I don't have a dime. Strange that should come up. If you ever work in a tipped type of job, airport shuttle driver, bell hop, pizza driver, waitress/waiter, cab driver, etc etc, you will find that the rich people are the stingiest tippers. When working at the airport, all the drivers tried to avoid picking up the stiffs in the BMW,s Mercedes and Lexus's. True story there. They were what we reffered to as Elvis's. All we'd get was a "Thank you, Thank you very much". Sorry, Thank You does not feed my kids or pay my bills.
