| For just because, if it were me, I think I'd keep the drivetrain. Sure it will be gutless, bad on gas, terrible on emissions, but it would be cool to see a Flat head V8 running down the interstate these days.

| Unless you planned on driving with the hood off, how would anyone tell?

| MEEEE TOOO I have yet to see the whole movie through. FUN FACT George Lucas is a SCORPIO and a trait of the scorpio is they love racing that is why georgey put so many race scenes in his movies oh like the pod races in SW episode I and of course American Graffiti along with other little race/chase scenes. So I am proud to say I love racing.

| Strangely enough, I was born in 66. As much as I see stuff in movies, the vehicles, the houses, the attitudes, the things they did like playhing chicken, street racing etc. If there is such thing as reincarnation, I sometimes wonder if I were not alive in those days died young in bad car wreck racing or playing chicken and was reborn in 66. I know, stupid and deep thought, probably making a fool of myself just suggesting such a wired thing, but it sure wouldn't be the first time I ever made of myself. But, it just seems to me, that time era would fit me better and I would like it. Of course TV is fake and maybe not so accurate. But all my GOOD close friends were older than me always. I had friends my age, that I hung out with at times, but I sure enjoyed hanging out with my frineds dads in the garage, looking at the old drag cars they buillt, hearing there stories back in the days, and learing all I could from them. I was like a sponge and learned most of what I know from the old guys, which I gathered the confidence to do things on my own, and with a little reading, going to the pull a part junkyard and tearing things apart is how I was self taught. Most guy my age wanted to go do other things like water ski, which I also did many times but not every weekend, also 3 wheeler riding, back then that is what you rode, 4 wheel ATV's were just coming out. But I would have rather gone to the junk yard for the day. That was my playground in my late teens early 20's. Then going to illegal street races on Friday and Sat nights and hanging with my buddies or going to my buddies dads houses and hanging out in the garage, drinking beer and building a car or rebuilding an engine or transmission. That was my recreations. I loved it, still do and miss it. Sadly though, now I am 43, and those guys with exception one of who still alive in CA, have all passed away. I miss my buddies dads more than I miss my buddies, and the buddies are still alive. Maybe that is why I don't miss them. I know they are an email or phone call away. Those old guys kept me out of trouble, and I must say, for the way I was raised, I turned out pretty dang good and I actully considered one of those old guys more of my own dad than I do my real dad, and hope my real dad, never becomes a member of this forum and sees me make that comment. WTH, did I just get a thought in my head and take off typing or what? Is this a truck forum or is it a blog or an online journal?

| Well, this is my take on it. Buy it, make sure that everything is road worthy and sound. Fix what is corroded, not working, falling apart, etc. Patch metal, sand, and paint as close to original color as possible, and drive. It doesn't have to be Pebble Beach quality, just something that is safe and easy on the eyes. And that you are proud to drive. My MG and old Rover are this way. I try to keep them as original as possible. In 20 years, if the kids want to pry them out of my cold, dead fingers and restore them, fine. Maybe I have provided them with a sound enough car to play with. Unless you are on the 'circuit', just be happy and proud.
