Cool Gas Milage

I was just wondering what kind of gas milage everybody else was getting out of a 5.4 Ford engine. I am getting in the neighborhood of 12 and 13 in city driving, and around 14 or 15 out on the open road. Let me know if my truck is the only 5.4 that seems to "gulp" the gas. Maybe I should tape an egg to the gas pedal...

I read on Edmunds.com that the 5.4 ford engine was a gas pig! Many people had complaints about it! Thats one reason I didnt buy one, gas is way to much money right now!

i hate to tell you, but that type of gas mileage comes with driving a full size truck. i have a 5.0 that gets that mileage and im happy with it. i also got a 460 that gets 8 miles a gallon, and thats not too bad for its size (and a lead foot!) in my mind id rather pay for gas then not have a truck. if you dont like it go buy a neon or a civic.

My 5.3 GMC Sierra CrewCab Z-71 gets 20mpg on the freeway and from 13-15 mpg in town.
