Cool Dumbest thing you have ever done thread.

Whats the dumbest thing you have ever done, Keep it clean ya'll.

heres one from my archive. I was checking out this old jeep i bought and the transmission was in a box. I looked in the bellhousiong when I pulled it into the shop and noticed the clutch fork and throwout bearing hangin there. thought to self ( Self remove that clutch fork before you start this motor. ) well a few hours and a few cold ones later and I was ready to start this pig. Had a buddy crank it over while i ran the carb from under the hood. Fired right up and after about 20 seconds or so BANG and cast aluminum parts flew everywhere, i knew immediately what I had done. When the motor was running the clutch fork contacted the spinning pressure plate and the bearing fell into the spinning clutch assembly and went ballistic after that.Well several hunderd dollars later I was installing a used bellhousing I had to pay a ton of cash to ship, This jeep had a hard to find 225 buick dauntless (gutless) oddfire engine in it. ...........................NEXT

390FE will become famous soon enough
trying to go down a dirt road in the winter. Was in a full size Bronco and the road was "closed" and a huge snow pile was at the start of the road. Put in in 4x4 and proceded to go over it. I wasn't going fast enough and was teatering on the fram(high centered it) Spent about an 1/2 hour trying to dig it out and the cops showed up. 10 minutes later he had the tow truck there. I got pulled down and was able to pay the tow driver so I did not get a ticket. Cop also told me the snow pile at the other end was taller. Yep I was about 16 years old.

Too many to list. Where should i start. Jumped a 88 ext cab Long Bed chevy pickup bout 8 feet in the air. 2 Wheel drive completely stock. That got some laughs. I would have to say my old '80 model chevy scottsdale, longbed stock 350. Had this bright idea on day to mount some slicks i had on it and do a burn-out. 1st attempt not to succesfull. After about 15 seconds the tires would get sticky and bog down the motor. Bright idea hits me. I had 16 quarts of old tranny fluid. A ha, pour the tranny fluid on the tires, ease the friction. After 16 quarts of fluid, a solid 5 minutes at 4500 rpms in second gear, and my own personal hole in the o-zone thanks to the massive column of smoke in the air the truck can't take anymore, so i back off. Head home back to the every day routine. Wasn't 2 days later lost the number 3 cylinder. below are pics of the cause of the number 3 cylinder loss

RedRam is on a distinguished road
Yesterday I let a friend of mine borrow my truck. He has a 24' Four Winns motor boat--close to the weight limit for my truck. For some reason, he decided to back it up a dirt driveway (uphill) in 2WD. Don't ask me why he didn't put it into 4WD. He said when he returned the truck to me, "It made a weird sound and now has a smell-I'm not sure what it is." Well now the clutch is gone. I told him and he said, "I'm good for it." I'm thinking of upgrading to a high performance (read durable) clutch that is good for everyday driving. Any ideas?

well this isn't a stupid story of mine, its my brother, we were in his car (96 BMW 328i) it was the first day he got it and its a quick little car, so of course we were testing it out seein what it could do, well it started to rain just enough to get the roads wet and we were going around a corner and my brother pulls the e-brake just enough to lose traction in the rear lets the ebrake back down and punches the throttle, the back end flys around, we end up going over this curb, the car died and he tried to start it, all the warning lights were on and the car would not start for a good minute and half, finally it kicks on and we were gunna go off of the curb but we were afraid to do anymore damage so we found some boards from a construction site right across the road and we made a ramp off of the curb, well, turns out he bent 3 of the rims fairly bad, enough to make it shake at about 70-80, the cars been running great for 2 years now, nothing seriously wrong with it
