El Camino trade

I have a friend that is kinda looking into trading his 1974 Chevy El Camino for a 1987 El Camino. I want to do a little bit of research on the '87.

Do any of you have any info, experience with it, or know of a place I could get some information on it, such as recalls, specifications, etc?

trust me, this would be a step up from what he has now.

Oh, and btw. I read that they had a recall in 2005.
Though, that could be a typo. It was for something to do with a gas leak

I gotta agree... It is a step up. Personally i love the later ones way better. A local guy has a mint late 80's something in perfect, unrestored condition, painted in the black/silver with the orange pinstrip on it. It looks really nice.

Friend has an 1970 elky, just got it running. Sounds cool and looks cool, but 8 mpg kinda sucks. I would stick with the 70's elky.

When they went to the square bodies like the later 80s they were just ugly. the older ones with smooth lines are the way to go.

tell your friend he will regret it if he does the deal. the 80's where the got to make and get rid of models for gm. they have no power not like the 70's models they changed everything on them. and becides he knows whats going on with that one and not the 80's one
