hey guys, i'm in the hospital right now. i just found out that my mom is having surgery in the morning. this is going to be number 10 or 12 i have lost track. she has been in and out of the hospital since i was 8 or so when the doctor told her she had 6 months to live. well, she has proved them wrong so far. i'm not a real religious guy but i just wanted to ask you guys to pray for her. thanks

good news. the doctor came in this morning to do some test before surgery and was happy with what he saw so he cancelled the surgery. i guess all the medicine they were pumping thru he ivs worked. the first thing she told the doctor was that all her prayers worked. if everything keeps going well she should be home by monday. oh, i can add mac and cheese to the list of things my dad can't cook, i think i found a new diet.

Doctors know some things but GOD has the last word you see how he heard everybodys prayers I hope she out lives all of us so now keep up the praying you see what it did for Mom I have seen the same thing with my Mom when she was still with us but we have to pray for all of us.

hey mud i'm glad to hear the good news. is she still doing great?

i wish i could say yes, she feels just as bad as when she was in the hospital. she has had a lot of surgeries in the past 15 years and that has created alot of scar tissue which is what is causing the problem. the scar tissue keeps growing and is pushing on her internal organs. the only solution is to do surgery to remove the scar tissue which is just going to create more scar tissue. the reason everyone was so worried about the surgery earlier is because the doctors weren't sure if her heart could handle the stress of surgery. she has an enlarged heart and leaky heart valves which she needs to have surgery on but is waiting for my sisters wedding just in case she doesn't make out of the operating room. she will probably have both of these surgeries at the university of michigan hospital since they are a teaching hospital and are more up to date because of state funding.

when ever my mom does pass away she has left legal papers and stuff for us to file against certain doctors that have caused all these problems, because she is afraid no doctors will help her if she brings up legal action while she is alive. if it weren't for them her first cancer might have been caught sooner, instead she had to trust her gut and find another doctor that would listen to her and do the right tests. then that doctor drop some of the cancer cells during the surgery and caused the second cancer. fast forward about six years and the third cancer shows up and thats when we went to the UofM hospital and things started to look positive.

i just hope she can wait until the end of the year for my sisters wedding. she won't listen to my sister to have the surgery now, i guess she knows what she is doing her gut has got her this far. wow, sorry for the long sob story.

i wouldnt call that a long sob story. things like this happen, maybe not to everyone yet, but will eventually come about. happy to hear that your mother is such a strong fighter. God evidently has big plans for her. hope she has got a better doctor than what she has seen in the past.

That's no bueno mud, but as brad said atleast she is a strong fighter. I hope it all turns out ok for you buddy!

thanks guys. she tries to put on a strong face around us kids, but she was in bed all day yesterday so i started to cook supper. she got up shortly after that, i think she was afraid i would burn the house down.

the doctor gave her some pills to help yesterday too, if it weren't for insurance it would have cost 75 dollars for 10 pills. we'll see if i get to try out my cooking skills again today.
