Turning my Wrangler into a Buggy

dont Body lift over 2".. you can make up for the 4 banger by regearing. the 2.5 is only gonna make so much power. also. if you go over 33"s, you need bigger axles. the D35 in the rear is gonna snap like a toothpick.

Yes I am 100% sure its a BODY lift and not suspension lift. I have had two guys, one here and in the USA that looked at it. I like the 2inches as I am nervous about upsetting the balance too much. I handle her pretty rough when I have the mind to do so and like to know she won't roll readily b/c I wanted more meat on her. I will look and see if I can find photo's of what I would like to do.

I want to start inside. Is there anyone, Dax, that knows of a good aftermarket place in Edmonton or is there a Canadian Catalog to door kind of thing that everyone deals with. I use to order form a place while lliving in the States but forget its name and not interested in paying duty.

one thing that will help reduce body roll and the threat of rolling the whole thing is wider axles. i really dont know how much to stress you get stronger axles if you go bigger than 33"s. i sent you a pm with additional info

Really takes a bunch to flop the jeep over, especially when you run such small tires. CJ's had a pretty darn tough time, they were pretty narrow and too short, but the YJ" is not so bad the way it is.
Open differentials will actually survive (D30 and D35) with just a little modification, especially with the little 4 banger engine. Does not make enough torque to kill axles as easily as the 4.0 or V8, as long as you do not really abuse it. I believe that you will be on reasonable trails and the Jeep will be just fine.
An example of "full width axles under a similar vehicle" that Camino was talking about. A great idea for stability, but perhaps overkill for your application.

true 75. i guess i'm just used to goin all out when i do somethin so i dont have to worry about re-doin it when i break it. since you're mostly into mud and not serious rocks or anything you probably wont break the d30/d35 combo. and probably wont roll it either since mudding doesnt often put you at a steep awkward angle

Man kid, you know you are tuggin on supermans cape here! I build these things, and actually make money doing it. Most of the trucks that I build anymore for free are a little more advanced than meets the eye.
I am so much more into rocks than you will ever know, not just mud.
If you did not notice my pics in this thread, those axles are portals with rear steer! I bent every portion of that chassis! May not be the best, but I will line it up with anything anybody has!!!!!! Including your little Wrangler!
Stick to the websites that say you need full width D60'S to have a good time, and I will still tell new folks that thier Jeeps are decent vehicles, and they should have a good time with them.

I think camino meant kitan was into mud.

I can't make out the rear steer in those pix, maybe just my eyes but I can not make out anything to do with steering LOL.

How long did it take to do all that bending ?

Yeah, I am into mud. I don't like rock climbing too much. I have quads for that and still don't utilize them for that. Honestly, it scares me. I was at Little Sahara and enjoyed the dunes but we don't have much of that around here.

at the time that buggy only had a conventional rear axle. The rear now has a front housing to accomodate the 4 wheel steer.

calm down 75. i was talkina bout kitan bein into mud more so than rocks. i've seen you rigs on here and know that you know your stuff. chill out. not tryin to knock you or anything.
